Tata Nano EV : A lot has been said on the internet about the possible comeback of Tata Nano – Tata Motor’s ambitious project in electric avatar. You may have come across several clickbait images and headlines about the Tata Nano EV. However in this article we will be decoding the hype of Tata Nano EV.

A lot of you have emailed to us asking about the Tata Nano EV. We would like to tell you that as of now there is no official confirmation from Tata Motors regarding the launch of Tata Nano EV. We do not see Tata Nano in their product pipeline.
Tata Nano was a pet project of Ratan Tata who had envisioned affordable car for Indian middle class. But the car was not positioned well among the public. Instead of affordable car, people thought of it as the cheapest car. This drastically reduced its aspirations.
As cities are getting more congested and traffic is ever increasing, today if Tata Nano were to be positioned as the city car thanks to its practicality, size and overall package – the Nano can find buyers. Let’s leave that to Tata Motors team.
Tata Nano EV – Neo EV
In 2017, Tata Motors’ partner Jayem Automotive had unveiled the Jayem Neo – which was basically an electric version of Tata Nano. In terms of range, power, performance and offerings it was a great vehicle. However due to some reasons the project was not pursued further. Jayem had delivered 400 Neo EV Ola cabs.
Tata Nano EV – Specifications
It boasted a range of 130 km in a single charge. It produced power of 68 BHP and a 27 Nm torque.
