Tata Motors is set to launch the 2025 Altroz facelift in India tomorrow, signaling a significant update in the premium hatchback segment. This updated model, which has been subject to several teasers and unofficial leaks, features notable enhancements in design, equipment, and variant nomenclature. It will compete against established rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20.

Updated Variant Lineup and Interior Enhancements
The 2025 Altroz will be offered in multiple trims: Smart, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus S. The interior of the facelifted model includes a revised dashboard, a larger infotainment display, a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, an updated instrument cluster, and a touch-based HVAC panel. Other comfort-oriented upgrades include ventilated front seats, an air purifier, a single-pane sunroof, and a wireless charger. Rear seat passengers will benefit from a center armrest that now includes integrated cupholders.
Powertrain Options
Mechanically, Tata Motors has retained the existing engine options. The Altroz offers a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Additionally, a CNG version with a manual gearbox is available. A 1.5-litre diesel engine variant remains in the lineup, offered exclusively with a manual transmission. With this, the Altroz remains the only hatchback in its class that provides a diesel option.
Key Features Over Hyundai i20
Compared to the Hyundai i20, the 2025 Altroz stands out due to several segment-first features and mechanical versatility.
- Multiple Powertrains: Unlike the Hyundai i20, which offers only a petrol engine, the Altroz provides petrol, diesel, and CNG options. The CNG variant produces 73.5 PS and 103 Nm of torque, while the diesel version delivers 90 PS and 200 Nm.
- Fully Digital Driver’s Display: The Altroz features a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display that shows navigation and blind spot monitor feeds. The I-20 only provides a semi-digital cluster.
- 360-Degree Camera with Blind Spot Monitoring: The Altroz integrates a 360-degree camera system with a blind spot monitor displayed on the digital instrument cluster, a convenience not available in the Hyundai i20, which is equipped only with a rear-view camera.
- Flush-Type Door Handles: The updated Altroz introduces illuminated, flush-fitting door handles for the front doors, enhancing its modern design. Rear door handles remain C-pillar integrated. The i-20 continues with conventional pull-type handles.
- Connected LED Tail Lamps: The Altroz now features connected LED tail lamps, offering a more cohesive rear-end design. The i20 uses separate LED tail lights connected by a non-illuminated trim.
Design and Exterior Updates
The Altroz receives a redesigned front fascia featuring twin-pod LED headlights, eyebrow-shaped DRLs, and pixel-style LED fog lamps housed within a new bumper insert. The side profile remains unchanged but now includes new dual-tone alloy wheels and blacked-out ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The rear design showcases connected LED tail lamps and enhanced bumper cladding for a sportier appearance.
Color options include Dune Glow, Pristine White, Royal Blue, Ember Glow, and Pure Grey. A contrasting black roof is available starting from the Accomplished S variant.
Interior Design and Features
Inside, the 2025 Altroz adopts a beige-themed upholstery and a refreshed dashboard layout. It retains the 10.25-inch infotainment system and adds a new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. The steering wheel, shared with other Tata models, includes an illuminated logo. The vehicle also includes a new touch-based climate control panel and added functionality in the rear armrest.
Safety and Technology
Tata Motors equips the Altroz facelift with several safety features. These include six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera with blind spot detection, ISOFIX child seat anchors, three-point seatbelts for all occupants, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Convenience features like auto air conditioning with rear vents, cruise control, push-button start, wireless phone charging, and auto-folding ORVMs enhance the driving experience.
Expected Pricing
The facelifted Altroz is expected to start from approximately ₹7 lakh (ex-showroom). For final pricing we would need to wait for few days.
