Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce a mid-life update to the Altroz on May 22, 2025. With that they have teased the 2025 Altroz facelift. The premium hatchback, which debuted in 2020, has largely maintained a consistent design over the years. With this facelift, Tata aims to modernize the vehicle’s appearance and feature set, while retaining its existing engine options — including the segment-unique diesel.

Design Changes: Sharper and More Contemporary
The exterior design of the facelifted Altroz adopts a more refined and aggressive look. The front end is expected to feature a new grille, updated full-LED headlamps, and revised fog lamp housings. LED DRLs have also been redesigned and integrated more seamlessly into the bumper.

At the rear, spy shots suggest T-shaped LED tail-lamps connected by a light bar, along with a reworked dual-tone bumper. Other exterior enhancements may include EV-style alloy wheels, flush-type door handles, and new colour options.

Interior Updates and Feature Enhancements
Inside the cabin, Tata is expected to introduce material quality improvements, a revised dashboard layout, and better soft-touch elements. The biggest change will likely be the addition of a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system — previously limited to select trims of the Altroz Racer.
Other anticipated features include:
- A new digital instrument cluster
- 360-degree camera
- Ventilated front seats (top variants)
- Auto-dimming IRVM
- Electrically adjustable driver seat
- Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo
These updates align with Tata’s broader efforts to bring more premium features across its passenger vehicle lineup.
Powertrains: No Mechanical Changes
The Altroz facelift will retain its current engine lineup, offering buyers multiple fuel choices:
- 1.2-litre petrol (88 hp, 5-speed manual or 6-speed DCT)
- 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (120 hp, 6-speed manual, Altroz Racer)
- 1.2-litre bi-fuel CNG (73.5 hp, 5-speed manual)
- 1.5-litre diesel (90 hp, 5-speed manual)
Notably, the Altroz remains the only diesel-powered hatchback in India, making it a unique offering for those prioritizing long-distance efficiency.
Expected Pricing and Market Positioning
Given the added features and design changes, a slight price increase is anticipated. The current Altroz is priced between ₹6.65 lakh and ₹10.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted model could start at approximately ₹6.89 lakh, with the top-end variant nearing ₹11.50 lakh.
