MG Motor India has rolled out the new Windsor EV Pro, a refreshed top-spec variant in its electric vehicle lineup, with a starting price of Rs. 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This launch arrives less than a year after the Windsor EV debuted, signaling MG’s aggressive push in the electric mobility space.
And it’s not just a cosmetic upgrade. With a larger 52.9kWh battery pack, new tech-savvy features, and subtle design enhancements, the Windsor EV Pro is looking to grab attention in a rapidly heating-up EV market.
What’s New in the Windsor EV Pro?
The standout change lies under the floorboard—MG has swapped out the earlier 38kWh battery with a 52.9kWh unit, bumping up the claimed range to 449 km (MIDC). The motor still puts out 134bhp and 200Nm, so the driving experience should feel familiar, but with more time between charges.
Visually, the Pro variant keeps its signature MPV-like silhouette but now sports new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, previously seen on MG models like the Hector. The LED strip on the fascia, illuminated MG logo, and connected tail lamps remain intact. However, a closer look reveals the ADAS badge at the rear, marking a key feature addition.
Inside, the cabin gets a new lease on life with lighter Ivory upholstery, faux wood inserts, and revised seat fabric. These subtle touches give the interior a more premium and airy feel.
More Feature Rich Than Before
In terms of tech, MG has turned up the dial. The Windsor Pro now features Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), adding a layer of safety and convenience. Other additions include:
- V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) charging functionality
- Powered tailgate
- Ventilated front seats
The feature-rich package continues with a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and 135-degree reclining rear seats, which have become a Windsor signature.
Pricing
With the launch of the Pro, the MG Windsor EV lineup now has four trims: Excite, Exclusive, Essence, and Essence Pro. Interestingly, MG continues to offer the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, allowing buyers to reduce the upfront cost.
