Things We Know About Kia Clavis Ahead of its launch

Kia is gearing up to unveil a new multi-purpose vehicle for the Indian market — the Clavis — on May 8, 2025. Early speculation suggested it might be a Carens facelift, but the Clavis is shaping into an entirely new product. Rather than replacing the Carens, it will be positioned alongside it as a more premium offering.

Leaked images and official teasers reveal a striking design that leans heavily into Kia’s modern styling language. The Clavis features a sealed grille, triangular LED headlamps, sharp daytime running lights, and a sculpted bumper with silver skid plates — design elements that align closely with the EV6 aesthetic.

At the rear, Clavis will sport a connected LED tail light setup, semi-clear lenses, and silver highlights on the bumper (according to the spy shot). It may also ride on larger alloy wheels compared to the Carens, enhancing its road presence.

Interior and Features

While the interior hasn’t been officially revealed, the Clavis would be featuring :

  • A 12.3-inch digital driver’s display
  • A matching 12.3-inch infotainment screen
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Ventilated front seats

Higher variants may offer additional comforts like a powered co-driver seat with boss mode, ambient lighting, a cooled wireless charging pad, and a Bose premium sound system. Seating configurations will likely mirror the Carens, with 6-seater (captain seats) and 7-seater (bench seats) layouts on offer.

Safety and Technology

The Clavis will likely come standard with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and front and rear parking sensors. A 360-degree camera is also expected.

Notably, the Clavis will be equipped with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist features gradually becoming standard in the premium MPV segment.
