The New Tata Nexon has scored 5 stars in the Global NCAP Ratings. Tata Nexon scored this benchmark after global NCAP had updated its testing protocols. This achievement follows the Tata Safari and Harrier being recognized as the safest cars from an Indian manufacturer.
Adult Occupant Safety Rating – 5 Stars (32.22 out of 34 points) :
- The Nexon provided good protection overall for front adult passengers, including adequate chest protection in frontal offset and barrier tests.
- Stable footwell area and body shell capable of withstanding further loads.
- With six airbags as standard, it offered good protection to the head and pelvis in the side pole impact test, with marginal protection to the chest while adequate protection for the abdomen.
Child Occupant Safety Rating – 5 Stars (44.52 out of 49 points) :
- Both child seats for 3-year old and 18-month old received rearward-facing installations, preventing head exposure during frontal impact and offering sufficient protection in side impact tests.
- Standard fitment of ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and acceptable performance.
- Full protection provided by CRS (Child Restraint System) in side impact crash tests.
- Appreciation for standard equipment like 3-point seatbelts for all occupants and front passenger deactivation switch.
Nexon Safety Features
The Nexon comes equipped with safety features such as six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX mounts, blind-view monitor, 360-degree surround camera, front and rear parking sensors, hill hold control, auto-dimming IRVM, and fog lamps with cornering function.

The Tata Nexon faces serious competition from the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 300, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.
