This Mercedes EQS Just Got Even More Luxurious

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the EQS 580 Celebration Edition in India, priced at ₹1.30 crore (ex-showroom). This special edition of the brand’s flagship electric sedan is limited to just 50 units and focuses primarily on enhancing rear seat comfort, making it a more indulgent choice for chauffeur-driven buyers. The update also commemorates Mercedes-Benz India’s 73% year-on-year growth in electric vehicle (EV) sales.

The Celebration Edition brings several comfort upgrades aimed at rear passengers. The back seats are designed like executive chairs that lean back up to 38 degrees and come with built-in massage and back support. This comfort package works with Mercedes’ Chauffeur Package, which automatically moves the front passenger seat forward to give back seat passengers more legroom. The interior uses high-quality Nappa leather with special designer seat belt buckles for a luxury feel.

Cabin Features

The interior layout of the EQS Celebration Edition remains largely unchanged but retains its tech-forward appeal. The dashboard houses the triple-screen MBUX Hyperscreen system, including a 12.3-inch driver display, a 17.7-inch OLED central infotainment screen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display. Rear passengers also get dual 11.6-inch entertainment screens and a 7-inch tablet to control seat and media functions.

Other comfort features include heated and ventilated rear seats, four-zone automatic climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, and wireless phone charging at both ends. The car also comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats with memory and ventilation functions, and a coloured augmented reality heads-up display.

Safety Features

The Celebration Edition continues to offer an extensive suite of safety technologies. These include:

  • Multiple airbags
  • 360-degree camera with park assist
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) featuring adaptive cruise control and driver attention monitoring
  • Steering assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and rear parking sensors
