The Lamborghini Temerario steps away from the naturally aspirated V10 engine that defined its predecessor, the Huracan. Instead, it is powered by a sophisticated plug-in hybrid system that integrates a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine alongside three electric motors. The V8 engine produces an impressive 800hp and 730Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful V8 engines ever installed in a production car. With a rev range extending to 10,000rpm, Lamborghini claims it is the highest-revving V8 engine in its category.

When combined with the three electric motors, the total system output reaches 920hp, delivering 800Nm of torque. This powerful setup allows the Temerario to accelerate from 0-100km/h in a blistering 2.7 seconds, with a top speed surpassing 340km/h. The hybrid powertrain not only ensures extraordinary performance but also offers efficiency, with a 3.8kWh battery that can be recharged through an AC charger, regenerative braking, or directly from the V8 engine.

Drift Mode and Driving Experience

One of the standout features of the Lamborghini Temerario is its Drift Mode, making it the first Lamborghini to offer such a driving dynamic. This addition adds an exciting layer to its all-wheel-drive capabilities. In addition to Drift Mode, the Temerario offers various drive modes: Citta (front-wheel drive, fully electric), Strada, Sport, and Corsa. This versatility allows the driver to tailor the driving experience to their preferences, whether they seek a more comfortable urban commute or an exhilarating track performance.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art braking system, the Temerario features 410mm aluminium disc brakes with 10-pot calipers at the front and 390mm discs with four-pot calipers at the rear. Lamborghini claims that the Temerario can go from 100km/h to a complete stop in just 32 metres, ensuring superior handling and control at high speeds.

Design

The Lamborghini Temerario exhibits a bold, cutting-edge design that is unmistakably Lamborghini. The exterior design incorporates sleek lines, aggressive cuts, and aerodynamic enhancements that improve the car’s performance at high speeds. The front end features hexagonal LED DRLs and sharp, angular headlights, signaling the car’s high-performance nature. The rear end is equally impressive, with hexagonal tail-lights and centrally mounted exhaust tips that reflect the car’s unique design language.

With its all-aluminium spaceframe, the Temerario benefits from a 20% improvement in torsional rigidity, while maintaining a dry weight of 1,715kg. For those seeking even more performance, the optional Alleggerita package reduces the weight further to 1,690kg by incorporating carbon fibre parts, such as the rear wing, wheels, and bumpers. The car also boasts 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, available in either forged or carbon fibre options.

Interior

Inside, the Lamborghini Temerario continues the brand’s signature fighter jet-inspired design. The interior features hexagonal motifs and an array of high-tech displays, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch central touchscreen, and a 9.1-inch display for the front passenger. The cockpit is designed for both comfort and performance, offering 18-way power-adjustable front seats that are heated and ventilated. The interior is further equipped with advanced features such as onboard telemetry, augmented reality navigation, and a dashcam.

Despite its focus on performance, Lamborghini has not compromised on comfort. The Temerario provides ample space, with a cabin designed to accommodate drivers up to 6’5″ tall, even with a helmet. The car’s luggage capacity is also more generous compared to the Huracan, making it a practical choice for those seeking both thrill and utility.

Safety Features

The Lamborghini Temerario is equipped with a robust suite of safety features. It includes seven airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a rearview camera, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) with lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. These features not only ensure the safety of the driver and passengers but also enhance the driving experience by providing additional support and control in various driving conditions.

Rivals in India

In the Indian market, the Lamborghini Temerario faces competition from other electrified supercars, including the Ferrari 296 GTB, priced at Rs 5.4 crore, and the McLaren Artura, priced at Rs 5.1 crore. These rivals offer similar hybrid powertrains, but the Lamborghini Temerario’s unique blend of design, technology, and performance sets it apart in a competitive segment.
