Tata hybrid cars – If you are thinking of buying a car, but are confused between petrol and electric, then now you can have a new option. Tata Motors, which is famous for electric vehicles in India, is now also considering petrol-hybrid cars.
Recently, Shailesh Chandra, head of the passenger vehicle department of Tata Motors, said that if needed, the company can bring hybrid technology to the market.

Why Hybrid Is Needed?
You will be surprised to know that in the first quarter of 2025, about 93,000 hybrid cars were sold in India, which is three times more than EV. It is clear from this that people are still hesitant about the range and charging of EV. This is the reason why Tata is now thinking for those customers who do not want to go completely on EV but also want to reduce petrol expenses.
What Is Tata’s Plan?
Tata’s focus is currently on EV. The company wants to make 20% of its cars electric by 2027 and aims to increase this figure to 30% by 2030. Tata has clearly said that it will adopt the technology according to the customer’s need and the direction of the market.
But if the demand for hybrids increases and there is a concession from the government, then Tata can bring some of its existing models like Nexon, Harrier and Curvv in hybrid versions.
Going Forward
If there are few EV charging stations in your city or you travel long distances, a hybrid car can be a smart choice. This strategy of Tata Motors is a balanced solution for customers who want both performance and fuel savings.
