With bookings beginning on December 20, Kia will launch the facelifted 2024 Sonet in India in early 2024.
The midlife update includes a revised grille, taller LED DRLs, and slim LED fog lamps in the front bumper, giving the Sonet a sportier appearance. Redesigned bumper and Seltos-like linked LED taillights are on the back. Redesigned alloy wheels are on the sides.
Interior
The 2024 Sonet features two 10.25-inch monitors for infotainment and the digital instrument cluster. A sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and an air purifier are inside. Six standard airbags, a 360-degree camera, ESC, and ten advanced driver-aid technologies improve safety. Upgraded connectivity features include “Find My Kia” for a smartphone app-based surround view of the car.
Safety and Driver Assistance
All trims have six airbags, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring, and ESC. Cornering lamps, a four-way powered driver’s seat, and a 360-degree camera with a blind-view monitor are available on higher versions. Lane departure warning and forward collision avoidance aid are among other ADAS features.
Powertrain Options
The Sonet facelift still offers an 83hp, 1.2-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 120hp, 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, and a 116hp, 1.5-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine. 6-speed iMT, 7-speed dual-clutch, and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions are available.
Price and Trims
The Sonet facelift will come in HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX, and X-Line trims. Facelifted model prices will be published in January 2024. We expect the prices to start from Rs.8.10 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
In conclusion, the Sonet facelift enhances its market competitiveness and can pose a challenge to Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300. Kia has definitely made the sub-4 meter segment more competitive with this launch.
