Skoda has officially launched the updated 2025 Kodiaq SUV in India. Positioned as the brand’s flagship offering, the new Kodiaq is available in two variants – Sportline and Selection L&K (Laurin & Klement). Prices start at ₹46.89 lakh (ex-showroom), making it more affordable than the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line, which shares the same platform.

Updated Exterior Design
The 2025 Kodiaq sports a more refined and bold exterior. Key highlights include sleek LED headlights, a revised Skoda butterfly grille, and new C-shaped connected LED tail lights. Both variants feature 18-inch alloy wheels, but with distinct designs to match their themes.
The Sportline variant has a blacked-out treatment, including the grille, ORVMs, and roof rails, giving it a more athletic look. The Selection L&K trim, in contrast, opts for chrome and silver accents, body-colored ORVMs, and a horizontal LED light bar on the grille for a premium touch.
Interior and Cabin Experience
Inside, both variants offer the same layout but with different themes. The Sportline features an all-black cabin with Alcantara inserts and a 3-spoke steering wheel, giving it a sporty feel. The Selection L&K trim uses a dual-tone black and tan theme, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and dark chrome accents, offering a more luxurious atmosphere.
A 12.9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display come standard across both trims. Physical knobs with multi-functional controls allow users to manage features such as volume, seat ventilation, and climate settings.
Performance and Engine Details
The Kodiaq continues with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that has now been tuned to produce 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and comes with an all-wheel-drive system.
The SUV also offers six driving modes – Eco, Normal, Sport, Offroad, Snow, and Individual – that adjust steering feel, throttle response, and gear shifts based on road conditions and driver preferences. The claimed fuel efficiency stands at 14.86 km/l.
Features and Equipment
Skoda has equipped the Kodiaq generously with features. Both variants come with a panoramic sunroof, dual wireless phone chargers, a 13-speaker Canton sound system, and multi-color ambient lighting.
The Selection L&K variant further enhances comfort with 8-way power-adjustable front seats that are ventilated, heated, and offer a massage function. However, the Sportline variant skips the ventilation and massage functions to maintain its sporty character.
Safety Features
Safety is a strong focus in the new Kodiaq. It comes with 9 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, hill start and descent assist, park assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are not included.
Market Position and Rivals
The Skoda Kodiaq competes in the premium SUV segment and goes up against models such as the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Jeep Meridian. It is also expected to rival the upcoming MG Majestor.
With its combination of strong performance, rich features, spacious design, and competitive pricing, the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq aims to carve out a strong position in the segment.
