Land Rover is a renowned British luxury car manufacturer specializing in four-wheel-drive, off-road capable SUVs. It is a part of Jaguar and has been a subsidiary of Tata Motors since 2008. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has been manufacturing Land Rover vehicles in India since 2011 at its facility in Chikhali, near Pune. The brand’s Indian portfolio includes the Range Rover series, Defender, and the Discovery range.
Land Rovers are also a favorite among Bollywood celebrities, with stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Ranbir Kapoor often spotted in their Range Rover cars. Known for their off-road prowess and luxury, Land Rover vehicles are a symbol of both capability and opulence.
Globally, the Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport, and Discovery Sport are the top three best-sellers. The latest model of the Range Rover was updated for the 2022 model year, and the new generation of this luxury SUV is expected to launch in India soon. The Range Rover will likely be available in five trims: SE, HSE, Autobiography, First Edition, and SV. The Range Rover Sport is also expected to undergo an update, drawing design inspiration from the flagship Range Rover.
Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that all future Land Rover models will be built on one of two platforms: EMA (Electrified Modular Architecture), which is focused on electric vehicles, and MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture). The next-gen Evoque and Discovery Sport will be the first models to use the EMA platform.
