Mercedes-Benz India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, was established in 1994, with its headquarters located in Chakan, Pune, Maharashtra. It was the first luxury automotive brand to enter the Indian market, launching the W 124 E-Class sedan as the first luxury car in India’s modern era. In 2018, Mercedes-Benz rolled out its 100,000th car from the Chakan factory, and the brand is currently the best-selling luxury car manufacturer in India. In FY’21, it sold 7,087 units.
Mercedes-Benz is also adopting a direct-sales model called Retail of the Future (ROTF), allowing them to sell cars directly to customers through showrooms and online platforms, with uniform pricing across the country. The company offers a diverse lineup, including sedans, coupes, SUVs, performance models, ultra-luxury Maybach variants, and electric cars. Upcoming models include the new-gen C-Class and electric EQB, EQE, and EQS.
